I made an apron. Yup. I did. I took this free tutorial and majorly adapted it to suit me. Basically, I took her measurements and started from there. After adapting the measurements to be more my size and deciding that I wanted it lined instead of with a facing, I cut my apron and 2 days later sat down to sew. Well, it’s finished now and I’m quite pleased with the result:

And the best part – it is completely reversible! (Can I tell you how thrilled I am about the fact that that worked out?) Oh, and yes, the contrasting rectangles on both sides are pockets.

Its simple, but suits and I really like it. I used some fabric Daddy’s grandma had given me and another from a remnant, about 2 yards in all. Here’s the fabric…its hard to see in the other pictures.

I can’t wait to make another. I want to make one specifically for sewing with more pockets and maybe even a detachable pin cushion. I’m always misplacing my scissors or tape measure or something. Apron pockets might just solve that issue. Hmmm….have to think on that. If I do it, I’ll be sure to post!
Great work!
Beautiful Kim! Isn’t it great when projects turn out the way you want…
